Description of awareness programme

A presentation on Unscrupulous Financial Activities was delivered by Market Intelligence Cell, Kanpur in the E-BAAT programme conducted by RBI, Kanpur on October 27, 2017. The target audience was principals and teachers of government schools of Kanpur district. A total of 117 participants (principals and teachers) participated in the programme. The sessions covered the different types of NBFC’s and their regulators, modus operandi of UIBs for defrauding the public, Money Circulation/Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)/Ponzi Schemes/Pyramid Structured Schemes, fake emails pertaining to fictitious offers / prize money / lottery and wrongful use of RBI logo, RBI NBFC CoR, RBI Governor picture / name, etc. The participants were also made aware about the functions of SACHET website with regard to reporting a complaint with the concerned regulator. In addition, the facility to share information about fraudulent entities and their schemes on SACHET website was also explained in detail. The programme was appreciated by all the participants. The Joint Director of Education, Kanpur thanked RBI Kanpur for providing such an erudite knowledge sharing awareness programme.
