Description of awareness programme

DNBS Jaipur organized an Investor Awareness Programme from November 9 to 11, 2016 at Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet 2016 (GRAM 2016), Jaipur organized by Government of Rajasthan. The IAP was conducted through a stall set-up at the Agritech Meet 2016. The objective of GRAM 2016 was exposing farming communities to the investment opportunities in the state and the meet had the participation of approximately 50000 to 60000 participants which included Top level functionaries from the Central and State Government Departments, Senior experts from National and International Agriculture Research Institutes, Financial institutions like banks, NABARD, SIDBI, Academicians from State Agriculture Universities & Agri Management Colleges, Agribusiness and food companies from India and abroad and progressive farmers. The participants were informed about NBFCs in general and those eligible to accept public deposits and precautions to be taken before investing their hard-earned money. The gathering was apprised of the risks involved in depositing / investing of their money in ‘Get Rich Quick’ schemes. They were cautioned about lucrative offers on deposits and easy loans at very low rates of interest offered by fraudsters. They were made aware of Ponzi / multi-level marketing schemes. The participants were also cautioned about fake SMS’s and e-mails being sent in the name of RBI. The participants were apprised about the importance of the recently launched SLCC website for common public – SACHET. The pamphlets of DNBS, Financial Literacy material and advertisements issued by the RBI were distributed.
