Description of awareness programme

Financial Literacy Camp conducted on September 16-18, 2015 at at Nashik Kumbh Mela A financial literacy camp (FLC) on Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs) and Un-Incorporated Bodies (UIBs) was conducted from September 16, 2015 to September 18, 2015 at the Kumbh Mela Sadhugram, Nashik. The State Government of Maharashtra had provided a stall to the Bank for the FLC. As the stall provided was just an enclosure with no electricity connection. A local vendor was contacted to prepare the interiors by covering the interiors and placing the basic furnishing like tables and chairs placed inside the stall. The frames for the promotional material, banners etc., were made at workshop by the undersigned and the Assistant Manager Shri V M Jadhav.and were placed in front of the stall and on the main road for publicity. As there was no electricity, a battery with amplifier, speaker and microphone set was arranged and public announcements were made at the stall. As the stall was not in a prominent place, public inflow was poor. Therefore, the vehicle which was given to the officers to carry material and transportation was fitted with speakers and banners and public announcements were made. In addition to the above, during three days, pamphlets on ‘Reserve Bank advisory on investment in financial companies’ (English and Hindi) and ‘Information on NBFCs’ (Marathi) were distributed amongst public in the mela as well as market places by the officers personally and issues related to NBFCs, deposit acceptance and UIBs were explained to the general public. General public were also cautioned against unauthorized acceptance of deposits by UIBs etc.,. Close to 5000 such pamphlets were distributed in the camp on behalf of DNBS among the general public.
