Description of awareness programme

An Investor awareness programme was conducted jointly by DNBS and FIDD, Thiruvananthapuran at Kodumon Panchayat, Pathanamthitta District on June 21, 2016 with the support of Financial Literacy Centre, Kodumon. As part of the programme officers handled sessions on NBFCs/UIBs and matters such as fraudulent/Ponzi schemes, money chain and multi-level marketing schemes etc. The participants were imparted awareness on dealing with various categories of NBFCs and UIBs operating in the state. The participants were also advised of the need for being cautious while taking investment decisions and while accessing credit from NBFCs. The need for being on guard against money raising activities through allurements by unauthorized bodies and also fictitious offers through SMS/e-mails/phone etc. was also emphasized. Sessions on financial inclusion and aspects of opening of bank accounts, Jan Dhan Yojna, accessing credit, developing entrepreneurial skills and venture into SME business, etc. Pamphlets on the above topics were distributed to the participants
